平成27年 明けましておめでとうございます

新年明けましておめでとうございます。

お正月は大荒れの予報でしたが、今のところ降雪もない天気で新年を迎えている三島町です。

さて、今日は元日ということで、改めて三島町とはどんなところかをお話ししたいと思います。

三島町は福島県西部に位置し、豊かな自然に囲まれた人口約1,800人の町です。

高齢化率が約４９％と過疎化の進む小さな町ではありますが、その自然とそこに暮らす人々が生み出した歴史・文化は伝統工芸品「奥会津編み組細工」、国指定重要無形民俗文化財「三島のサイノカミ」に代表され、現代の人々に受け継がれています。

平成２４年にはそれらの伝統文化が登録資源に認められ「日本で最も美しい村連合」に加盟しました。

硬く言うとこんなかんじですが、くだけて言えば元気なおじいちゃんおばあちゃんが住んでる田舎です。

Located in the west of Fukushima Prefecture, Mishima is a small town, abundant in nature, with a population of approximately 1,800 people. Despite its 48% aging population and continuing depopulation, Mishima’s nature and its people continue to pass down their history and culture through traditional crafts known as, “Okuaizu Amikumizaiku,” and its representative Intangible Folk Cultural Properties of Japan, “Mishima no Sai no Kami.” Also, since ancient times, known for producing Aizu’s paulownia, Mishima’s paulownia chest drawers are famous nation-wide.
